Gastronomy
Certainly important when you are on vacation. Tradition and quality are important in the kitchen of the Auvergne. Meals are simple and sincere with quality products presented in a rustic style. Sausages and ham remain a powerful symbol of the Auvergne.
Some specialties are les Saucisson sec, Soupe à l’ail rose, Tarte au Cantal, Coq au Vin, Truffade, Saumon d’Allier, Lentilles vertes du Puy, Aligot, Tarte aux Myrtilles.
The Auvergne has its own wines, for a long time (early 19th century). The Côte d'Auvergne of the Puy de Dôme. And the Saint Pourçain of the Allier. The oldest vineyards in France. This is a complete gamme with an aroma and taste of nature.
There are 5 Auvergne cheeses who are AOC. These are: Saint Nectaire, Cantal, Salers, Fourme Ambert and Bleu d'Auvergne. There is also a wine and cheese route.
During our dinner we enjoy cooking with all the good products of the region.
